Born in Busan, South Korea, and raised in New York and Pennsylvania, the Korean-American actor discovered acting while he was a student at Haverford College.

Hawaii Five-O and Lost star Daniel grew up in the Easton, PA area and has been a lifelong Phillies fans. Shane paid back Daniel’s hospitality with his recent visit to a Philadelphia Phillies game. The actor threw out the first pitch before the Phillies vs Mets game. He was even given a special jersey with the number 50, a nod to the TV show.
